Architecture & masterplanning
We’re experts in architecture and masterplanning
As architects and urban designers, we turn shared ambition into places that work for the people they’re built for. From early briefing right the way through to delivery, we balance heritage, wellbeing and low-carbon performance to create adaptable spaces that elevate everyday living for long into the future.
With architecture and masterplanning being key services, we’re experts in both new-build and reuse projects across Scotland – working closely with communities, councils and local authorities to make sure what we do benefits all.
Here’s how that process works.
Understanding
We start every project with an understanding exercise – getting to know the place, the community, the landscape and the heritage. With this information, we build a clear brief.
Design
With a strong brief in place, we start designing with people in mind – considering everything from daylight to comfort, accessibility to materiality. This is where creativity combines with our usual technical rigour.
Low-carbon thinking
With every abc project, low-carbon performance is integral. From making careful material choices to taking a fabric-first retrofit approach, low-carbon thinking is baked into our entire process.
Coordination
We manage and lead projects holistically – working with every building specialist required for each project. We also advise on procurement routes, contractor engagement and staged delivery.
Delivery
During construction, we protect intent through clear communications, responsive site support, quality checks and assistance with decision making. This makes the handover process smooth and easy. The result? Durable, adaptive architecture that enhances lives, respects existing buildings and reduces environmental impact.
