With over a decade of experience, Alasdair has designed and delivered projects that span various sectors – from housing to healthcare, leisure to community. All with a focus on the refurbishment of historic buildings.
To bolster his already existing knowledge and expertise, he’s currently working towards a Conservation Accreditation.
As an experienced architect and certified Passivhaus Designer, Alex has delivered low-energy, design-led projects across affordable housing, retrofit and commercial sectors.
Having worked on multiple award-winning projects, he works collaboratively with communities, clients and contractors to create buildings that balance performance, sustainability and social value.
A recent Part 1 graduate from the Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, Aspen has practice experience across Hong Kong and Scotland with a particular focus on civic and placemaking projects.
During their studies, they have produced multiple shortlisted architectural competition entries as well as being shortlisted for the A&DS+RIAS student awards for their final year adaptive reuse project.
Leading our inclusive, collaborative, and community-focused design approach, Caroline champions co-design and evidence-based thinking – ensuring projects are shaped by the people who use them.
Beyond the practice, she is an active contributor to the architectural community – serving on the Glasgow Institute of Architects judging panel and the Glasgow Urban Design Panel.
Supporting the practice to identify tender opportunities, win new work, and communicate our impact clearly, Catherine makes sure our submissions remain current, compliant and forward-looking.
She also provides specialist accessibility auditing with a focus on neurodiversity – interpreting PAS 6463:2022 to go beyond compliance and embed inclusive design principles.
With over two decades of experience in facilitating the efficient running of the studio, Debbie specialises in comprehensive administrative and human resources support.
She fosters a positive and efficient work environment – supporting senior leadership and colleagues across the business, as well as providing a welcoming environment for anyone who visits us.
With a keen interest in accessibility and inclusive design, Eilish has skills in BS8300 and accessibility audits – and assists on several projects across the practice.
She holds a BSc in Architecture from the University of Strathclyde and is currently studying part time at Glasgow School of Art to receive her Diploma.
An architect, urban designer and PAS 2035-qualified retrofit designer, Emilia studied in Poland and Liechtenstein and gained professional experience in practices across Switzerland and London.
Leading the creative development and providing strategic design direction across projects, she coordinates closely with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary teams from concept through to post-completion.
An accredited Passivhaus Designer and qualified PAS 2035 Designer and Assessor, Eoin is highly skilled in the management and delivery of both new-build and retrofit projects across the public sector.
He’s an expert in low-energy design, as well as evaluating residential energy performance, producing EPCs and recommending improvements.
Fin has a strong interest in environmental design, contributing to projects across the practice at all stages of development.He is currently studying Architecture at the University of Edinburgh and is undertaking a placement at the practice as part of his academic studies, gaining experience in professional design environments.
With over 25 years of experience, Frances specialises in full-cycle bookkeeping, streamlining complex accounts, ensuring HMRC compliance, and delivering actionable insights through Sage 50 Accounts.
Her expertise spans purchase and sales ledger, as well as credit control and transforming messy ledgers into clear, audit-ready data.
An experienced Carbon Assessor with in-depth knowledge of lifecycle carbon analysis, Francisco has experience with a variety of building typologies – from housing to education, community to healthcare.
He’s an expert in retrofit, material reuse, low and zero carbon, regenerative design, heritage significance and conservation, circular economy, biodiversity and the social values of architecture.
As an architect working on a range of community, healthcare and social housing projects, Iona focuses on sustainability and designing environmentally healthy and sustainable communities.
She holds a BA (Hons) in Architecture and Planning, and is currently working towards her Urban Planning accreditation with the RTPI.
Jack Helmn is a qualified architect with six years of post-qualification experience and ten years in the industry. He has extensive expertise in residential architecture, particularly social housing, and led the award-winning Clydebank Health Centre project through to completion during construction phase. His experience spans feasibility studies grounded in design quality and technical proficiency, preparation of planning applications, programme and planning management, and coordination of on-site queries to ensure a high-quality final outcome. He also has experience designing in compliance with multiple design guides and standards, including Housing for Varying Needs, consistently delivering inclusive, robust and efficient architectural solutions.
Working on a diverse range of projects from housing and healthcare to commercial and community projects, Jana works closely with architects across abc at all project stages.
Her expertise lie in design research, technical drawings, visualisations, 3D modelling, and the production of reports and documents to help deliver high-quality outcomes.

She is a long-standing member of the management team, having guided the practice through ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditations, and is a member of the Association for Project Safety.

An architect with experience in many sectors, Karlis has worked across Scotland and Latvia with a focus on public residential and commercial architecture.
He received the RIAS Student award, GCC Charile Cochrane medal, and was shortlisted for Architects’ Journal Sustainability Award. He’s also a contributor to the Latvijas Architectura journal.
With experience than spans small-scale alterations in private housing to larger experimental co-living schemes, Katy’s interests lie in sustainability, heritage and conservation architecture.
She received Highly Commended in the Sean DeCourcy FORMWORKS competition as a student and has worked on the Venice Biennale of Architecture as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant.
As an architect, Lorna contributes to a range of retrofit and community-focused projects. Having completed PAS 2035 Retrofit Designer training, she’s gaining experience in large-scale retrofit work.
Her recent portfolio includes significant involvement in high-rise retrofit programmes, where she supports design development, coordination, and delivery.
An award-winning architect with extensive experience in new-build regeneration and strategic master planning, Mark is skilled in leading multi-disciplinary design teams.
He has delivered significant projects across Scotland – from large-scale urban developments to rural housing clusters. Mark has also led innovative research and development projects in construction technology and off-site manufacturing.
Having been at the practice for over a decade, Matt’s an expert in public-sector residential regeneration and urban design – as well as balancing ambitious design quality with a pragmatic understanding of programme and cost.
He coordinates multi-disciplinary consultants, shapes briefs with clients, and maintains effective contractor liaison and contract management.
With a decade of experience, Nicola has worked on several award-winning projects. She’s experienced in redeveloping urban city blocks and designing in response to uniquely constrained sites, key heritage assets and sensitive planning policies.
She volunteers for the Glasgow Institute of Architects and is currently Convenor of the Architecture, People and Places Committee.
As an urban planner and designer with experience in sustainable urbanism, Pelin tracks progress towards net zero carbon targets – carrying out Street Network Analysis, NPF4 Carbon Assessment Requirements, Climate Risk & Resilience Assessments, and more.

She specialises in financial reporting and process improvement, and she enjoys delivering successful organisational change projects.
